Our Picks. Although the primary objective of the Calgary Health Region Archives is the preservation of the corporate history of Calgary Health Region, the archives also has a collection of interesting and sometimes unusual artifacts, a large collection of photos and medical instruments. 

Our Favorite:

The Dunkley Shield was presented to Calgary as a token of the success of Mrs. A.N. MacDonald and her child John Duncan Claude MacDonald.

They were awarded first prize a the Empire's mother and baby competition of 1925 held in England.

Calgary  Health Region Archives has a very large collection of historical photos

Although not terribly important to the overall history of health care in Calgary, the red barber chair from the Colonel Belcher Veterans Care Center is a favorite of patrons and staff of the Calgary Health Region Archives.
